GLAMORSTYLING: How to Get Celebrity Style on a Shoestring Budget

When you browse the pages of the fashion magazines, it’s easy to be inspired by what the rich and famous are wearing. But even though you might be full of great ideas and have a wish list a mile long, it can be hard to turn it into a reality.

If you’ve got a limited budget, it doesn’t mean that you can’t still look fabulous. Here, we take a look at some top fashion tips that will have you looking just as good as any celebrity, without putting too much pressure on your purse.

Hit the high street
In an ideal world, we’d all be walking around head-to-toe in designer labels. In reality though, it’s just not possible. Thankfully, the high street is so good these days that most people would never know the difference. Affordable fashion outlets keep a close eye on the latest catwalk trends, and if you keep looking, you’ll find the most on-trend items in store in no time at all. Forget any ideas you’ve got about high street being substandard, because it’s just not true!

Aim for style, not fashion
Fashions come and go, but style is timeless. Instead of trying to stay up-to-date with what your favourite stars are currently wearing, aim for creating a stylish go-to wardrobe instead. Invest in a few key pieces that will last you forever, such as a pencil skirt and an evening dress.

Update last season’s items

There’s no need to forget about your existing wardrobe just because the season has changed. With a bit of creativity and TLC, those outdated items could be brought bang up to date. Take up the hem on your trousers to create a capri pant, knit a pretty Peter Pan collar for a plain shirt, or just add a belt to a dress to give it a new lease of life. It will cost you just pennies to make something really beautiful.

Aim to create a capsule wardrobe
The savviest of fashion lovers know that you should focus on quality rather than quantity. You can only wear one outfit at a time, so why spend all your money on countless items that you’ll never wear? Instead, aim to buy just 3 or 4 new pieces every season. If you give it some careful thought and consideration, you’ll have exactly what you need, and enough change left over to keep your bank account happy.

Do you follow celebrity trends? How do you recreate the look without spending a fortune?
