Hopeless romantics who are eagerly anticipating the grand 2face and Annie Idibia white wedding next month will have to wait a bit more.
Contrary to what has been widely publicized, GlamourOGOinvestigations have revealed that the celebrity couple aren’t walking down the aisle on February 14, 2013.
Instead of the hugely expected February/Valentine wedding, multiple sources have told us Idibia is hoping to stage a lovers’ concert on February 14, in partnership with Now Muzik and Edi Lawani’s Showbiz Network Services. The pop icon will also honour other performance engagements in and around Lagos.
‘Forget all the noise about February 14, Innocent and his wife have other grand plans up their sleeves and are not ready to give up the details just yet’ one major insider told our source last week as Annie continued her luxury shopping from the US to Dubai.
On January 7, we exclusively reported that the couple had been planning an elaborate white wedding, to take place possibly on Valentine’s Day, exactly one year after the pop star surprisingly proposed to Annie.
We also reported that Annie had recruited some of her closest friends for her ‘planning committee’ and a select few to be her bridesmaids.
‘Annie isn’t settling for a secret wedding, she’ll get her elegant white wedding like she’s always dreamt of’, a friend who’s familiar with preparation plans told our source.
GlamourOGO investigations also reveal that 2face will be hosting a February 14 Valentine show at the Eko Hotel and Suites. ‘So [unless] he can divide himself into two, there won’t be any wedding that day’ a friend says.
2face’s managers could not be reached as at Friday, but his publicist Bayo Omisore tells us he’s unable to confirm any date for now, until he is given a date by his client.
So where and when will the wedding be?
Well, sources close to the couple have told us that the wedding will now take place only in Dubai. After bridal shopping in New York, Annie traveled over to the Persian Gulf port city to relax, shop some more, and make further arrangements.
We also hear the couple plan to fly their close family members and a few friends to the now exclusive wedding ceremony and reception. So there goes your plan to gate-crash the party…
As for when the couple will walk down the aisle, no one seems to be in the know for now – but, as one friend told us ‘it’s definitely in a matter of weeks’..
Amidst the whole ‘secret plot,’ a fresh set of Annie Idibia pregnancy rumours have hit the tabloids. This is the second time in six months the actress has been rumoured to have ‘taken in.’ While a rep for 2face has denied the pregnancy, Annie herself doesn’t seem to be bothered, posting pictures of herself at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel cooling off.
