Nigerian Ahmed Adamu has emerged the Chairperson of the Commonwealth Youth Council.
Ahmed Adamu beat several other aspirants from twenty one countries to emerge the winner at a keenly contested election. The decision has been announced in Hambantota, Sri Lanka on November 12, 2013, Tuesday.
Ahmed originates from Kastina State. He graduated Bayero University Kano with a PhD in Economics, from Newcastle University in the U.K.
The new leader of the Commonwealth Youth is the Founder and Pioneer President of Youth Participation for Progressive Development Initiative, member, Katsina State Executive Council Committee on youth restiveness and Unemployment, December, 2011 and Secretary, Constitutional review Committee, Katsina Central Constituency, 2012.
It would be noted that the Commonwealth Youth Council is the recognized voice of 1.2 billion youths and a Nigerian is the Chairman! Go Nigeria!
