Bisi Komolafe: Nollywood Mourns

Bisi Komolafe being buried in Ibadan

Not long after the death of veterans, Pete Eneh, Sam Loco Efe, Enebeli Elebuwa, Nollywood was hits again by another death, this time of a fast rising actress, Bisi Komolafe. The plump actress, GlamourOGO gathered had been battling with an undisclosed illness before her death on Monday, December 31, 2012 at the University College Hospital, Ibadan.

According to reports, the illness started about three months ago during which she was taken to Ibadan for medical attention. While in the hospital, Komolafe reportedly took over 25 units of blood and was at different times, taken to churches for prayers. Unconfirmed sources disclosed that she was pregnant for her Epe-born fiancée, Tunde Ijaodola, but the pregnancy was terminated when she became too weak to carry on with it.

While there is yet to be a confirmed cause of her death, there have been many speculation about the possible cause. Some attributed the death to a spiritual attack and others said it could have resulted from complications from her terminated pregnancy.

Komolafe has since been buried on Friday, January, 4, 2013 at the St. Mary Catholic Church, Salvation, Oke Paadi in Ibadan, Oyo State. A lot of her colleagues including Ajala Jalingo, Jibola Dabo, Odunlade Adekola, Yinka Quadri, Taiwo Hassan Ogogo Abiodun Olanrewaju, Nike Peller, Afeez Owo, Yomi Fash Lanso, Muyiwa Ademola were present to pay their last respect.

Speaking with GlamourOGO at the burial, Yinka Quadri, a Nollywood actor and head of the Odunfa caucus, which she belonged to, described her as a peace loving actress and expressed his shock at her sudden death. Bolaji Amusan (Mr Latin) also added his bit and advised that her colleagues emulate her good nature.

Until her death, Komolafe, 27, was a 300 level student of Lagos State University where she was studying Business Administration. She is survived by her grandmother, father and siblings.
