Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was admitted into the hospital today after doctors found a blood clot had been formed, NBC News reports.
The 65-year-old was at a follow-up exam related to a concussion she suffered earlier this month, Philip Reins, a State Department senior advisor, said in a statement.
"Her doctors will continue to assess her condition, including other issues associated with her concussion," Reins said. "They will determine if any further action is required."
She is currently being treated with anti-coagulants at New York-Presbyterian Hospital, and will be monitored for the next 48 hours.
According to CNN, Clinton was suffering from a stomach virus earlier this month when she fainted due to dehydration, causing the concussion.
